Not there yet, but I might... I doubt it will sell anytime anyway... and I still might go the JDM way... Or the E30 Alpina C2 2.7 way instead :)

Well, this:

And this:

is tempting also... Especially the first one, but it might be expensive though (no price, but 25000km on the odometer and apparently rebuilt engine lol)

I have heard Japan has tons of awesome old Alpinas. If you find any e30 Alpina (or Hartge or Schnitzer or MK) bits and pieces let me know ;)

The C2 2.7 is basically a much better and cheaper E30 M3 but with what I feel is a bigger investment potential as they are much rarer than E30 M3s... I might buy one really as I feel that they will be worth 5 or 6 times that in 10 to 15 years...

Will surely write about everything I find there haha

I might wait a few months first before getting a proper car though (like 2 or 3 months), but I will be in Japan on September 2nd, most likely for the rest of my life :)

They lack Hartge stuff though... Alpina, yes they have tons...

Get something BMW, Mini or Skyline. Those are my suggestions

Insterested by the Celica 2000GT also... But I feel like I would have a LOT more fun in a C2 2.7... I already own a Mini in France (a '92), so I won't buy a second one :)

Honestly if I can help at some point, I definitly will... Problem is that I don't know shit about where to find that in Japan for now... I often went and spent lots of time in Japan, but I don't know much about the aftermarket market there...

I will learn though, I'll have to haha

The Celicas won't be worth much after because they were already sold in America/Canada. Also, they're prone to rust.

Their price in the US is going to go very soon... Not to mention that Japan got a 145hp 2L version of the car while Japan only got a crappy 2.2L version with 90hp or so... Both are called 2000GT, but one of them is not exactly what it seems hehe

But you are right, the Celica will never reach E30 C2 Alpina type of money... Alpinas are a much better investment. but i also care about the sheer excitement and fun they provide hehe

I kind of doubt that the value will go up that much here very soon. There just isn't that much demand. And the C2 Alpina is worth a ton here because I don't believe they weren't sold in the US and it had such limited production.

Datsun 240z are already worth over 25K$ in Japan... A good 2000GT will go for close to 20K$ in Japan too... it will go up in value there for sure. in the Us not so sure. But yes, Alpinas are by far the best investment :)

In Japan is the key thing there. I rarely see 2000GTs for over $12k or 240Zs for over $16000
